Greetings CDM Fantasy Sports Affiliate,

2004 continues to rapidly pass. Already football is in full swing while baseball is beginning to wind down and enter the heat of the pennant race. For Affiliates, it’s now time to start promoting the "Late Fall and Winter Sports." Don’t forget to keep those banners fresh!

NEWSLETTER ARCHIVE
We are pleased to announce that past CDM Affiliates Newsletters are now available via the CDM Affiliates website. Thus you now may reference previous information about CDM's fantasy games and the quarterly affiliate tips at any time. To access the Newsletter Archive, select the Newsletters option under the For Members section of the menu.

QUARTERLY TIP Do you know what civil servant you resemble? Here’s a little quiz for you. What civil service type of job do you, as a CDM Fantasy Sports Affiliate, most closely resemble?

A) EMS Technician
B) Police Officer
C) Fireman
D) Postal Carrier

What did you guess? If you picked B) Police Officer, you’re correct. Much like the police officer directing traffic at an intersection, you, as an Affiliate, attempt to direct traffic to web sites of which you are an affiliate. Just as the traffic cop must keep things running smoothly in all directions, you must make smooth transitions throughout the year to drive traffic where you want it to go.

It’s important you maintain good visibility, otherwise traffic may not see the path you want them to follow. Additionally you must maintain an authoritative presence so that customers will follow your direction or advice. Finally your signals must be clear. No one can follow your desired path if you haven’t given good, clear direction.

Make sure you review your site layout and directions. Can your customers see what you want them to see? Have you given them clear, authoritative reasons to click on those links? Are the road signs visible and easy to follow? Have you given your customers a reason to follow your directions? Making sure the answer to these questions is YES will make you a successful Affiliate.

GAMES CURRENTLY AVAILABLE TO PROMOTE
At the bottom of this newsletter, you'll find a summary of the four featured games that we recommend promoting now. The first is the Diamond Challenge Playoff sponsored by USA TODAY/Sports Weekly, a well-received and long-running Rotisserie-style fantasy baseball game. This game involves the ability to pick not only the right players but also the right teams that will advance throughout the playoffs. The second game is the Basketball Challenge sponsored by USA TODAY/Sports Weekly, the oldest and best Rotisserie-style fantasy basketball game on the market. Even though we don't know when the NHL season will start, if your customer base includes hockey fans, we recommend promoting one or both of our fantasy hockey games (Fantasy Hockey sponsored by USA TODAY/Sports Weekly and The Hockey News Supreme Pool).

Banners and artwork are available via the CDM Affiliates website.

GAMES AVAILABLE TO PROMOTE LATER THIS FALL
At the end of this newsletter, there is a summary of the four upcoming games that will be available shortly. The Mid-Season Football Challenge sponsored by USA TODAY/Sports Weekly is the perfect fantasy football game for the football fan who missed getting a team in on time or who got off to a poor start and wants a second chance. This game can be promoted beginning Monday, October 18, 2004. The other three games (Playoff Football Challenge sponsored by USA TODAY/Sports Weekly, Tour Trade Fantasy Golf, and One and Done Fantasy Golf) will be available for promotion in mid-December.

By clicking on each game’s logo in the summary table, you can easily go to its website to access the complete rules, pricing, and prizes.

As a reminder, to promote a game and receive credit for the entries you generate, you must first put the banners and artwork on your website and link them to our games with your affiliate code. To do this, visit the CDM Affiliates website and use the Graphics and Artwork and Linking Instructions pages. Please feel free to contact us if you are having any problems with this.

We here at CDM Fantasy Sports hope you have found this newsletter helpful. We look forward to a long and satisfying relationship with you. Should you have any questions or should there be any information which you would like covered in future newsletters, please contact Stephen M. Parker at sparker@cdmsports.com.
